I have a Lapinator that I use at home (which I love) but it doesn't fit in my bag for travel. Since I'm about to be travelling a good bit, I wanted something that would fit in my bag with my laptop. This fits the bill perfectly! It's slim and small enough to fit in my bag, but just large enough for my 17 inch laptop. Very happy with my purchase.

I needed a laptop pad that wasn't stuffed like an overgrown pillow....this product fits the bill...slim and easy to travel with and keeps the heat off my lap without having to deal with a big bulky item.

My 15" MacBook Pro fits nicely and looks great on this lap desk, and the desk creates a nice, stable surface even when I'm moving it around the apartment. I no longer burn my leg on my laptop's battery. The problem is that the battery is now starting to melt the plastic film on the surface of the desk. I've had this desk for about a month and I don't know how much longer this one will last, but I'd buy another one if they made it with sturdier materials next time.
8/16/11 - Updating this review to say that the plastic film on top of the desk was supposed to come off anyway! I peeled it off to reveal a nice, smooth surface. My bad. Apologies to the manufacturer!
